MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week
Andrew Indzonka (Wilkes / Fr., P / New Windsor, N.Y.) helped Wilkes to three of their five wins last week to clinch a spot in the MAC Freedom Championship. Indzonka was brought into three games in high-pressure situations and game out on top all three times earning a win and two saves. The freshman entered with two outs in the bottom of the ninth of an 8-6 lead against FDU-Florham with bases loaded and coaxed a fielder’s choice ground out to end the game. Indzonka then entered game two with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning and runners at first and second. He slammed the door shut by getting the final hitter to fly out. Against DelVal, he entered a tie game in the top of the seventh inning with the bases loaded and earned a four-pitch strikeout to close out the game and earn the victory.
