MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Owen Geedey (King’s / Sr., GK / Gap, Pa.) was nearly perfect in goal for the Monarchs in a 1-1 week, making seven saves on eight shots. The senior made two saves in King’s 2-0 win over Wells to begin the match. Geedey ended the week with five saves in a 1-0 double-overtime setback to SUNY New Paltz. The Hawks’ goal came in the 106th minute. Geedey was a big reason why the match made it to overtime with two big saves late in regulation. The Hawks were awarded a penalty kick in the 85th minute where Geedey dove right to deny the chance. He got up and made a second save on a rebound shot. The senior came up with another big save in the end of the first overtime period to keep the match scoreless.
