MAC Track Athlete of the Week
Esther Seeland (Messiah / So. / State College, Pa.) earns her second conference weekly award of the season. Seeland became the second woman in Messiah program history to ever run a sub-five minute mile and the first to do it on a flat track ever when she turned in a 4:59.91 mile at the Frank Colden Invitational this weekend at Ursinus. She won the event by a little over a second against teammate Leanne Weaver (third place was 23 seconds behind Weaver in 5:24). The MAC record sits at 4:54.10). Seeland also helped the Falcons win the 4x400 meter relay in a time of 4:01.14 (more than 12 seconds ahead of second place). Seeland’s mile is ranked No. 3 in the country.
