MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week
Tim Halasnik (York / Sr., Relief / Jackson, N.J.) had a huge impact on the Spartan series this weekend against Alvernia as he picked up a win and a save in two games for York. In York's dramatic eight-inning win in Friday's opener, Halasnik entered in the top of the eighth and shut down a red hot Alvernia offense to allow York to win the game in the bottom of the inning. Alvernia had scored three runs in the sixth and four more in the seventh to tie the game at seven. Halasnik came in and recorded a pair of strikeouts before getting a ground out to second to earn his first collegiate win. In Saturday's opener, the Spartans picked up an improbable win as they rallied for three runs with two outs in the top of the seventh inning to edge the Golden Wolves 4-3. Halasnik came into the game with no outs in the bottom of the seventh and a runner on first. He got a strikeout and a pair of ground outs to earn his first save of his career.
