MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week
Robert Chaney (York / Sr., P / St. Mary’s, Md.) celebrated his Spartan Senior Day by twirling a two-hit shutout for 6.2 innings in the opener against Eastern on Saturday. Chaney surrendered two hits in his outing as he struck out seven and walked two. He would have completed the game but got pulled so another senior could get the final out. It was the Spartans' third shutout of the year. Chaney held the Eagles to a .087 batting average on the day. In the middle of the game, Chaney retired 10 straight Eagles over the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
