MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Kayla Ferris (York / Gr., G / Staten Island, N.Y.) led the Spartans to a team title at the 14th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. Ferris was named the tournament MVP. Ferris led the Spartans in scoring at 11.7 points per game while she also averaged 8.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.0 blocked shots per game for the Spartans in their 2-1 week. She began the week with her ninth career double-double as she had 11 points and 10 rebounds in the loss to Johns Hopkins. She also had five assists, two steals, and a blocked shot against the Jays. In the lopsided win over PSU Abington, she registered 10 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals. She concluded the week with another great effort in the championship game win over Washington with 14 points, six rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots and two steals. Ferris had 15 assists and just three turnovers as York's primary ball handler for the week.
