Makena Gomes had a career week in leading the Manhattanville women's volleyball team to only the second 3-0 start in program history. The junior averaged a triple-double for the week with 36 kills, 56 assists and 47 digs, and showed her versatility by leading the team in digs against Purchase, assists against Bard and kills versus Southern Vermont. She expecially excelled in leading the team to its first tri-match sweep since 2000 by posting nine kills, 31 assists and 16 digs in a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Bard and then registering the second-highest kill total in program history and most since 1987 (23) to go with 16 assists and 23 digs in another five-set thriller over Southern Vermont.
