Kai Cipalla led the Spartans to a 1-1 week with a conference road win over Albright followed by an overtime loss to No. 7 Christopher Newport. In the win over Albright, Cipalla was brilliant as he poured in a career-high 30 points as he was 13-for-14 from the floor including 1-for-2 from three and 3-for-4 from the stripe. He added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in his 37 minutes of action. Against the nationally ranked Captains, Cipalla tallied 16 points, seven rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal. Cipalla was 6-for-11 from the floor and 4-for-7 from the line. For the week, Cipalla averaged 23.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in 38 minutes per game. Cipalla shot 76% from the floor and 63.6% from the line.
