Xavier Phoenix (DeSales / Jr. / New Castle, Del.) earns his second conference weekly award following the 2023 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. The junior was named MAC Field Athlete of the Year after winning a pair of gold medals at the event. He started the weekend by breaking a MAC Championship record in the long jump with a mark of 7.30, which beat the previous record of 7.28. Phoenix then took gold in the triple jump during day two with a distance of 14.23 meters.
