MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Jack Mitzelfelt (York / Sr., F / Westminster, Md.) led the Spartans to a 1-0-1 week as York ran their unbeaten streak to four. Mitzelfelt helped the Spartans forge a 2-2 tie with Susquehanna on Wednesday night as York trailed 2-0 with just over 12 minutes left in the game. Mitzelfelt got the Spartans on the board with his first goal of the year off an assist from Matt Martin with 11:28 remaining in the game. The Spartans would get a second goal from Tyler Howlett to forge the tie. In the Spartans’ win over Lancaster Bible on Saturday night, Mitzelfelt tallied a pair of first half goals to power the Spartans to the win. He registered an unassisted goal in the 27th minute and scored again less than four minutes later to put the Spartans up 3-0. Mitzelfelt, the Spartans leading goal scorer last year, leads the squad with seven points on three goals and an assist.Â
