MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Kai Cipalla (York / Jr., F / Lititz, Pa.) had another big week in leading the Spartans to a pair of wins over MAC Freedom teams including preseason favorite Arcadia. In the win over the Knights on Wednesday, Cipalla tallied his second straight double-double with 16 points and a career-high tying 13 rebounds. He was 4-for-5 from the field and 8-for-11 from the stripe. He added three blocked shots and two assists in just 23 minutes of work. On Saturday in the win over Delaware Valley, Cipalla led all scorers with 24 points and six rebounds. He was a very efficient 12-for-16 from the floor while he also had two blocked shots and one steal. For the week, Cipalla averaged 20.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocked shots per game in the two victories. He was 16-for-21 (76.1%) from the floor, and 8-for-11 (72.7%) from the stripe. Cipalla is the MAC Commonwealth's leading scorer while he is fifth in rebounding. He is fourth in field goal percentage with the most made field goals (51) in the league. Cipalla is also fourth in the league in blocked shots.
