MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Kai Cipalla (York / Jr., F / Lititz, Pa.) had another big week for the Spartans as he averaged 17 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Cipalla began his week with 16 points, seven rebounds, a career-high seven blocked shots, one assist and two steals in 35 minutes in a road game at Rochester. Cipalla was 7-for-12 from the floor and 2-for-3 at the free throw line. In the Spartan win over SUNY-Poly, Cipalla had 23 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. He also had an assist and a blocked shot. Cipalla was 9-for-14 from the floor and 5-for-7 from the free throw line. In the final game of the week, Cipalla had 12 points, six rebounds and a blocked shot in the contest against Randolph-Macon. He was 8-for-9 from the line in just 24 minutes of play. For the week, Cipalla averaged 17 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.0 blocked shots, and 1.0 steal in 28.3 minutes per game. He shot 54.5% from the floor and 78.9% from the free throw line. For the season, Cipalla is second in the league in scoring, third in rebounding, third in field goal percentage, fifth in made field goals, and fourth in blocked shots.
