MAC Swimmer of the Week
Laurel Gingrich (Albright / Sr. / Gilford, N.H.) was in action this weekend for Albright competing in the 50, 100 and 500-yard freestyle events against Messiah and Misericordia. Gingrich won the 50 and 100-yard freestyle besting the 11-person field in both events. Gingrich's time of 24.87 was not only good for first but also 57 seconds better than second in the 50-yard free. While in the 100-yard free, Gingrich won her second race of the day finishing in 54.75. Gingrich was not done yet as she took home first in the 500-yard free. Gingrich was dominant in the event finishing with a time of 5:19.73. The time was over 15 seconds better than the second-place swimmer.
