MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Shane Stossel (Lebanon Valley / Sr., 1B / West Hanover, Pa.) had a huge week at the plate for the Dutchmen. He slashed .538/.684/.1.231 with three home runs, eight RBI, and five runs scored in four games. The designated hitter started the week with two hits and three walks in five plate appearances in a 15-8 victory over Immaculata. The senior scored twice and knocked in two runs in the victory. Stossel then played a big role in LVC's weekend series with DeSales. In Friday's 10-inning victory, he went 3-4 with two home runs and three RBI. The senior tied the game in the top of the eighth inning with a leadoff home run. He then hit another leadoff home run to begin the 10th to give the Dutchmen a thrilling 9-8 comeback victory. On Sunday is a pair of losses, Stossel hit a three-run home run in the third inning to cut the lead to 4-3 in an eventual extra-inning defeat. In game two, he recorded his 100th career hit on a single to left to lead off the fourth in a tough defeat to the Bulldogs.
