McKylie Boreman (Alvernia / Sr. / New Cumberland, Pa.) took first place in Alvernia's season-opener with a round of 73 at the Elizabethtown College Invitational at Hershey Country Club East on Wednesday. She then followed that on Monday with a round of 2-under 69 to tie Alvernia's single-round record and take a first place lead into the second round of action on Tuesday at the Cal. U. Vulcan Invitational. At Elizabethtown, Boreman recorded four pars and one bogey in her first five holes. She then went bogey, bogey before ripping off six pars and a birdie to record a one over, 37 through nine. She then tallied a bogey, two pars and a birdie on her final four holes to post a one over 36 on the final nine and a two over, 73 overall. At the Vulcan Invitational on Monday,  Boreman got her first round started with a par on the first hole, and set the tone from there. She finished the front nine with a clean card and made the turn at even par. She then recorded her first birdie of the day on the 11th hole and added another birdie on the 13th to move to 2-under. Boreman then carded her third birdie of the day on the 16th before giving back her first and only stroke of the day with a bogey on 17. Boreman finished out her round with a par on the 18th for the round of 2-under 69 in the field of all Division II programs.
