Josh Stahl (York / Sr. / Quakertown, Pa.) had a great start to the season as the won the 174 pound weight class at the Ned McGinley Invitational Saturday at King's College. The eighth-seeded Spartan went 5-0 on the day with three falls, a technical fall and a decision. After starting the day with a pair of falls under 30 seconds, Stahl upset top-seed Jayden Curley (RWU) with an 18-1 technical fall in the quarterfinals. Stahl notched another first-period fall over Jake Long (Castleton) in the semifinals before ending the day with a 6-3 victory over seventh-seed Gage LaPlante (Army) to claim the 174-pound title. Stahl is now 8-4 for his career with the Green and White as he has had his first two seasons cut short to injury. He is also a two-time Ned McGinley place winner after finishing sixth two seasons ago.
