MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Mia Frisoni (Lebanon Valley / So., G / Glenville, N.Y.) led the Dutchmen to a huge weekend sweep of MAC Preseason favorite Wilkes with 95 saves on 96 shots. The sophomore started off the weekend with 46 saves in a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory over the Colonels where the only goal allowed came off a rebound in the second period. She had 15 saves in the first period, 19 in the second, and 12 in the third. The goalie did not face any shots in overtime as the Dutchmen won 24 seconds in after winning the faceoff. Frisoni was even more impressive on Saturday against Wilkes with a season-high 49 saves in a 1-0 victory. The sophomore made 11 saves in the first, 10 in the second, and then an outstanding 28 in the third period after LVC scored an early goal in the period. Her 49 saves in a game is second in the MAC this season while her 46 is tied for fifth.
