Senior guard/forward Joe Flanagan became the 32 Elizabethtown College men's basketball player to score 1,000 career points when he nailed a 3-pointer with 14:52 to play in E-town's 80-59 Commonwealth Conference victory over Alvernia Saturday. It was a milestone basket, but just one of many buckets on the afternoon for Flanagan, who secured his second straight 20-point game and third this season. The senior finished with 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting, as the Blue Jays handed the Crusaders their first loss in league play this season. Monday night against Lancaster Bible, Flanagan scored a game-high 24 points on 8-of-10 shooting. For the week he averaged 22.5 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game. He was 6-of-8 from downtown (75 percent) and a perfect 7-of-7 at the line as E-town ran its winning streak to five, and its overall record to 15-3.
