He worked behind-the-scenes for the growing needs of an ever-expanding athletic department that grew from 12 to 23 varsity sports during his tenure. Kenworthy was a groundbreaking member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). His honors include CoSIDA’s Warren Berg Award (1989), CoSIDA Hall of Fame (1990), Irving Marsh Service Award (ECAC-SIDA, 1991), Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (1994). Named for him, the Bob Kenworthy Good Person Award, is presented annually to individuals who exhibit an exemplary combination of professional excellence and community service.
