A two-time All-MAC West Division MVP, Bobby Smith held records until the late 1990’s, including career goals (46) and goals in a single season (16). He was one of America’s pioneers in the development of professional soccer and the North American Soccer League in the 1970’s. He later landed a starting spot for the New York Cosmos playing with international soccer star, Pelé of Brazil.
