Lynne Cassidy, Gettysburg College
Swimming – Class of 1992
A 25-time All-American and former NCAA record-holder, Lynne Cassidy led Gettysburg to four straight MAC titles and four straight top-10 team finishes at the NCAA Division III Championships. Upon winning back-to-back national titles in the 500-freestyle (1990 and 1991), Cassidy broke the NCAA record in the 500 Freesylte in 1991 with a time of 4:55.85, holding that record until 2000. She still holds three school records including the: 200 Freestyle (1:53.67), 500 Freestyle (4:55.85), and 200 Backstroke (2:07.21). She was named MAC Most Outstanding Swimmer three times. Losing only one race in 1991, Cassidy led the Bullets to a 12-0 record and program-best seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships. She won the Clair B. Noerr Award, givent to the College's top senior female athlete.
