Competing in three sports at Gettysburg, Henry Bream set the school record with three drop-kicks in a single football game, was an excellent guard on the basketball team, and was the leading hitter on the baseball team. In 1927 Bream returned to his alma mater as head football coach and basketball coach, serving until 1951. He guided the Bullets to a record of 104-69-12 on the football field and 321-205 on the basketball court. From 1952-1956 Bream took over the head baseball coaching position, leading his team to a 46-24-2 record. In 1953 changed hats to become Director of Athletics, remaining in that position until 1969. During tenure as AD, Bream served two terms as President of the MAC as well as serving on various ECAC and NCAA committees. He was named to the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Hall of Fame in 1972 and entered the PA Sports Hall of Fame in the same year.
