Penny Fall, Washington College
Softball, Tennis, Volleyball Coach – 1969-2001

Penny Fall arrived at Washington College as a physical education instructor in 1969 and is responsible for the growth of women’s athletics at the school. Women’s varsity sports grew from zero to nine while Penny was a part of the college. She ran women’s athletics in its early days and later took on the formal role of Senior Woman Administrator. In addition, she coached 655 games as varsity volleyball coach from 1976-95, 107 games as softball coach from 1987-92, and a 53-41-2 record as women’s tennis coach from 1977-86.  It was her hard work and persistence that brought women’s athletics at the college from a recreational activity to an equal varsity cohort of men’s sports.
