Baseball Coach – 1961-70
Tom Petroff was the Rider baseball coach from 1961-70 with a career record of 155-84-2. Petroff had a regular season winning percentage of .647. He led his teams into the elite of college baseball, taking Rider to a College World Series appearance in 1967. Petroff is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and also a past president of the ABCA. He is one of only five coaches to lead two schools to the College World Series. Petroff was formerly in charge of the Detroit Tigers' Spring Training operations and he has coached numerous USA Baseball teams overseas, including the 1984 U.S. Olympic Team.
