Selinsgrove, PA (January 22, 2012) – Senior Ashley Wade took home first place in the weight throw leading the DeSales University women’s track & field team at the Orange & Maroon Classic at Susquehanna University in the first meet of the 2012 calendar year.

Wade won the weight throw with a toss of 42-09.00 feet, just shy of two feet farther than the second-place finisher.  Sophomore Erinne Schmalzer was fourth in the weight throw (39-01.00) and sophomore Kam Stocks was sixth (35-06.50).

Other top finishers at the event were sophomore Cara Guth who finished third in the 5,000-meter run (19:41.38) and the “A” team in the distance medley relay that took home fifth place (14:23.16) consisting of freshman Emily Jeandell, freshman Michelle Churchman, freshman Michele Bartkus, and senior Cassie Harmon.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Friday, January 27th when they travel cross-town to the Muhlenberg Invitational.
