YORK, Pa. (Baseball) – The top-seeded Rowan Profs defeated the eighth-seeded Castleton Spartans, 9-0, in game two of the 2018 NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional at PeoplesBank Park in York.
 
Rowan (34-9) scored in the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead.

A five-run fourth inning for the Profs extended the lead to 6-0. Two more runs in the sixth pushed their lead to 8-0, and then a final run in the seventh gave them their 9-0 win.

Rowan finished with nine runs on nine hits.

The Profs’ starting pitcher Drew Ryback earned the win with six strikeouts over seven innings of work.

Castleton (30-12) was unable to get a run. Dillon Benham led the way going 2-for-4 at the plate.
 
Rowan will advance to the winner’s bracket and face No. 5 Misericordia on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
 
Castleton will fall to the loser’s bracket and face No. 4 Virginia Wesleyan on Friday at 10 a.m.
