ANNVILLE, Pa. (Conference News) – On February 18, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Executive Committee Chair and Misericordia University President
Dr. Thomas Botzman announced the appointment of
Megan Morrison as the next Executive Director of the MAC.
Morrison will become the fifth executive director of the MAC since the position was made full-time in 1978.
“On behalf of the Middle Atlantic Conference presidents, I welcome Megan Morrison as our new executive director,” said President Botzman. “Megan’s experience in compliance, governance, student development programs and drive to serve our students will be highlighted in her new role. Furthermore, as a former Division III athlete in ice hockey, softball, golf and rugby, she knows the importance of a quality experience in the life of a student-athlete. We look forward to Megan’s leadership of the MAC.”
Morrison will begin her leadership on July 6, 2020. She will replace
Kenneth W. Andrews, who finishes his 20th and final year of service on May 31.
"I am grateful to President Botzman and the rest of the hiring committee for this opportunity,” said Morrison. “I look forward to working with the presidents, athletics directors and with all other administrators, coaches and student-athletes across the MAC to further collective priorities and to lead the governance and administration of a conference that epitomizes the values of Division III.”
Morrison comes to the MAC from the Ivy League where she served as the conference’s Associate Executive Director for Compliance and Governance since 2016. She oversaw the League’s compliance, governance and student-services efforts, managed several championships, served as a liaison to coach groups and created the conference’s inaugural mental health summit in partnership with the Patriot League. Prior to that position, she was the Assistant Director (2008-16) and Compliance Coordinator (2006-08) at the Ivy League.
She is a long-time member of Women Leaders in College Sports, having attended the annual convention since 2006 and the Leadership and Executive Institute in 2014. She is also a member of the National Association of Athletics Compliance. She has served on numerous NCAA committees, including two terms on the Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee and the Women’s Ice Hockey Committee, which she chaired from 2012-14.
After graduating magna cum laude from Bowdoin College, Morrison obtained her Master of Science degree in Sports Management from Florida State University, where she also served as a graduate assistant in the athletics compliance office.
