York earned four of nine first-place votes for 57 points

ANNVILLE, Pa. (Men’s Basketball) –
The York Spartans were selected as the favorite in the 2021-22 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) men’s basketball coaches. The Spartans received four of the nine first-place votes for 57 points.

Despite there being no NCAA Division III tournament in 2020-21, the conference competed in a shortened five-week regular season that culminated with a championship week that saw the top-two teams compete for the 2021 MAC Commonwealth title. All other teams played in crossover contests with the MAC Freedom. (Note: Hood and York did not compete in the shortened conference season)

Albright captured the 2021 title with an 82-77 win over Lebanon Valley to give the Lions their first conference title since 2010. Albright now has 10 conference titles in men’s basketball.
 
The 2021-22 season is set to begin on Friday, Nov. 5. The double-round robin conference schedule will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
 
The 2022 MAC Commonwealth Men’s Basketball Championship is set for Feb. 21-26. The top-five seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
