Lebanon Valley, Messiah, Misericordia Selected as Favorites Heading into 2022 MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

READING, Pa. (Indoor Track & Field) The 2022 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships are set for Friday, Feb. 25 through Saturday, Feb. 26 at Alvernia University's The Flynn PLEX. This will be the second year the championships are held on Alvernia’s campus since 2019 due to the cancellation of the 2020 championships as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The conference championship will begin on Friday at 2 p.m. Day two will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Medals will be given out both evenings for completed events. (Full schedule of events)

The Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen and Messiah Falcons men’s teams and the Misericordia Cougars women’s team were selected as the favorites in the MAC Indoor Track & Field Pre-Championship Coaches’ Polls conducted among track & field coaches.

For directions to the site of competition, go to the championship central page. Live results and live video coverage can be followed throughout the duration of the championship.

Due to the nature of this championship and the amount of competing student-athletes in the facility, the MAC and Alvernia will be limiting spectators for each of the two sessions. Tickets are on sale online now here and will be available until the event is sold out. Tickets will not be available on site.

Also, proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will be required by all spectators when they arrive with their ticket. Examples of what will be accepted are included in the memo. Masks are required.

The Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen and the Messiah Falcons were selected atop the 2022 MAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Pre-Championship Coaches’ Poll both with six first-place votes for 181 points. Widener came in third with three first-place votes and 172 points. Stevens (151 points) and DeSales (147 points) rounded out the top-five of the poll. (Full poll can be viewed below)

The Misericordia Cougars were picked as the favorite in the 2022 MAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Pre-Championship Coaches’ Poll with ten first-place votes for 190 points. Lebanon Valley was ranked second with 176 points and two first-place votes. Messiah came in third with 164 points and three first palace votes. Widener (160 points) and Stevens (154) rounded out the top-five of the poll. (Full poll can be viewed below)

2020 Team Results
The Stevens Ducks won their first MAC men’s indoor title with 136 points. Widener finished in second with 125 points. The rest of the teams finished in respective order: 3. Stevenson (120) 4. The Eastern Eagles won their first MAC women’s indoor title in program history. The Eagles collected 144.5 points in 2020. The rest of the teams finished in respective order: 2. Messiah (137) 3.
