York named favorite in MAC Commonwealth Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Preseason Poll

ANNVILLE, Pa. (Women’s Lacrosse) – The York (Pa.) Spartans were selected as the favorite in the 2023 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth women’s lacrosse coaches. The Spartans collected eight first-place votes from opposing coaches for a total of 64 points.

In 2022, York defeated Stevenson to win its first MAC Commonwealth title. The Spartans finished 8-0 in conference play to earn the top-seed in the tournament.
 
York, Stevenson and Messiah advanced to the 2022 NCAA Tournament. York and Stevenson picked up first round victories, while Messiah earned a bye. All three commonwealth teams were then eliminated in the second round of tournament play.
 
The 2023 season is set to begin on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Conference play will begin on Wednesday, March 29, with an eight-game schedule.
 
The 2023 MAC Commonwealth Women’s Lacrosse Championship is set for May 1-6th. The top-five seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
