ANNVILLE, Pa. (Conference News) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its conference weekly award recipients for the week ending Jan. 2, 2023. A total of five student-athletes were recognized for performances from Dec. 19, 2022 to Jan. 2, 2023.
MEN'S BASKETBALL (#MAChoops)
MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Collin Jones (Lebanon Valley / Sr., F / Lock Haven, Pa.) earns his second conference weekly award of the season. Jones had two great games against a pair of high-quality opponents from the Ohio Athletic Conference at the Florida Sunshine Shootout in Daytona Beach. The senior averaged 24 points and 11.5 rebounds over two games. He started the week with game-highs of 23 points and nine rebounds against fourth-ranked Mount Union. Jones was a force down low getting to the line 10 times and making nine free throws. The forward then finished the week with game-highs of 25 points and 14 rebounds against Marietta College. Jones led a second half comeback in which the Dutchmen rallied from a 14-point deficit with 7:19 left to within two points holding the Pioneers scoreless until a pair of free throws with nine seconds left clinched the victory.
MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Nate Ellis (DeSales / Fy., G / Allentown, Pa.) averaged 19.3 points per game helping the Bulldogs post a 3-0 record over the last two weeks. He had 19 points in a win over Muhlenberg College to start the streak and was named to the All-Tournament team helping DeSales win the Al Senavitis Memorial Holiday Tournament scoring 18 points in the first game and 21 points in the championship game. The guard finished the week shooting 59 percent (23-for-39) from the field and 9-for-11 from the charity stripe.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (#MAChoops)
MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Jordan Karmonick (Alvernia / Jr., G / Mahanoy City, Pa.) recorded a near triple-double in an 80-58 win over Juniata. The junior scored 17 points and added nine rebounds, eight assists and two steals in the victory.
MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Megan Bealer (DeSales / Sr., F / Harleysville, Pa.) helped DeSales stay unbeaten over the last two weeks posting a 3-0 record averaging 14.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.7 steals in the three games. She had 17 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists in a road win over Cabrini before being named to the All-Tournament Team at the Moravian University Holiday Tournament averaging 13.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.5 steals in the two tournament games. She recorded a double-double in the second game of the tournament with 11 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and an assist. Bealer scored 15 points with seven rebounds, four steals and an assist in game one.

MAC Wrestler of the Week
Gable Crebs (Lycoming / Jr., 197 / Montoursville, Pa.) moved to 17-1 overall with a pair of important wins at Rennie Rodarmel Allstate Duals. Crebs posted a meet-clinching pin of Steven Gazzillo in the second round, giving Warriors a 19-12 lead in a 22-12 win over Cortland. The junior notched 16-0 technical fall of Keevon Berry of Centenary in the second match of the duals.
