Newtown, Pa. (Men’s Basketball) - The Widener Pride was selected as the favorite in the 2023-24 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) men’s basketball coaches. The Pride received all seven of the first-place votes for 49 points.

Widener defeated Alvernia 74-69 to claim the 2023 MAC Commonwealth Championship title. The Pride dropped to Tufts in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The 2023-24 season is slated to begin Wednesday Nov. 8 with conference play starting Wednesday Jan. 3.
The 2024 MAC Commonwealth Men's Basketball Championship is set for Feb. 21-24. The top-four seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
