DeSales Claims MAC Men’s Cross Country Title

Misericordia's Stephen Rowley finishes first overall

DALLAS Pa. (Men’s Cross Country) – The DeSales Bulldogs captures their first Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) men’s title since 2007 on Saturday at Letterkenny Field. Misericordia's Stephen Rowley won to give the Cougars their first individual title at the men’s championship.

DeSales claimed the title with 37 points. Misericordia finished in second place with 94 points, and Messiah took third with 109 points. York (Pa.)  and Lebanon Valley finished tied in fourth-place with 112 points, ultimately giving York (Pa.) the official fourth place finish. 

Rowley won the 8K race in a time of 26:35.7. DeSales' Shane Artis took second with a time of 26:51.7, DeSale's Matt Santacoloma finished third with a time of 26:57.3, Lebanon Valley's Matt Santana took fourth with a time of 26:59.7, and Stevenson's Hayden Schindler rounded out the top-five with a time of 27:08.4. 

Rowley was awarded the 2023 MAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Year award for his individual title.
 
The 2023 MAC Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Year was awarded to Lebanon Valley's first year Santana who finished fourth.
 
DeSales head coach Al Weiner was named the 2023 MAC Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year.
