MAC Senior Scholar-Athlete History

ANNVILLE, Pa. (Academic News) –
The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Executive Director Megan Morrison announced the 2023 Spring MAC Senior Scholar-Athletes on Thursday. A senior student-athlete from each of the 11 spring sports (baseball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s lacrosse, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s outdoor track & field and men’s volleyball) were recognized for their strong academic and athletic prowess.
 
 
BRADY MADDEN
Baseball – Misericordia University
Brady Madden (Enola, Pa.) is a two-time All-MAC Freedom Second Team second baseman in 2021 and 2022. He was named honorable mention in his first year (2019). Madden led the Cougars to three-straight MAC Freedom title games, including titles in 2019 and 2021. He was named all-region in 2021.
 
Madden is majoring in business administration and working towards his MBA with an expected graduation date in 2024. He currently holds a 4.0 GPA. Madden has been named to the Academic All-MAC team, MAC Academic Honor Roll and Misericordia University Dean’s list.
 
 
LUKE FAGLEY
Men’s Golf – Alvernia University
Luke Fagley (Mohnton, Pa.) is a three-time All-MAC Commonwealth honoree, including first team honors in 2022 and second team honors in 2019 and 2021. He finished in the top-10 at the conference championships in 2023 (6th), 2022 (5th), 2021 (7th), and 2020 (9th).

Fagley is majoring in mathematics and working towards his MBA with an expected graduation date in the spring of 2023. He currently holds a 3.75 GPA. Fagley is a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree and a GCAA All-American Scholar (2022).
 
 
NATALIE ROBSON
Women’s Golf – York College
Natalie Robson (Bradenton, Fla.) is a two-time MAC Golfer of the Year, two-time MAC individual champion and a two-time MAC team champion. Robson also earned MAC Rookie of the Year honors in 2021. She is a two-time NCAA Championship qualifier, and advanced to the final day as an individual in 2021 to finish 21st overall. Robson was named a WGCA All-American in 2021. She holds the school record in career average (79.30).
 
Robson is majoring in public relations with an expected graduation date in the spring of 2023. She currently holds a 3.76 GPA. Robson is a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree and a two-time WGCA Scholar All-American.
 
 
CAM LEYDIG
Men’s Lacrosse – Stevenson University
Cam Leydig (Crofton, Md.) is a three-time All-MAC Commonwealth selection, including first team honors in 2022 and second team honors in 2019 and 2021. Leydig led the Mustangs to three-straight MAC Commonwealth title games, winning it all in 2019. Leydig was named to the USILA All-America team in 2022.

Leydig is majoring in business administration with an expected graduation date in the spring of 2023. He currently holds a 4.0 GPA. Leydig is an USILA Scholar All-American and an Academic All-MAC honoree.
 
 
RACHEL DELATE
Women’s Lacrosse – Messiah University
Rachel Delate (Glen Mills, Pa.) is a two-time all-American, earning IWLCA first team honors in 2021 and third team honors in 2022. She was named to the USA Lacrosse All-American First Team in 2022. Delate is a two-time All-MAC Commonwealth First Team honoree, and she was named the 2021 MAC Commonwealth Attacker and Rookie of the Year. Delate led the Falcons to the 2021 conference title and was named the championship MVP.
 
Delate is majoring in finance with an expected graduation date in the spring of 2023. She currently holds a 3.66 GPA. Delate was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-American (At-Large) Second Team in 2021. She is a two-time Academic All-MAC selection.
 
 
ALEXA MCHUGH
Softball – Misericordia University
Alexa McHugh is a two-time All-MAC Freedom First Team pitcher, and she was named the 2022 MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Year. In 2022, McHugh was named a first-team NFCA All-Region selection. The Cougars have advanced to two-straight conference tournaments since McHugh’s arrival.

McHugh is a physical therapy doctorate major with an expected graduation date in 2025. She currently holds a 3.95 GPA. McHugh has been named to the Academic All-MAC team, MAC Academic Honor Roll and Misericordia University Dean’s List.  
 
 
JUSTIN SCHUETZ
Men’s Tennis – Lebanon Valley College
Justin Schuetz (Reading, Pa.) is a two-time All-MAC Commonwealth first team selection, and he was named the 2022 MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year and the 2019 MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year. Schuetz finished runner-up at No. 1 doubles at the 2019 and 2021 MAC Individual Championships. He led the Dutchmen to the 2022 MAC Commonwealth team title

Schuetz is majoring in business administration and English with an expected graduation date in the spring of 2023. He currently holds a 3.73 GPA. Schuetz has been named to the Academic All-MAC team, MAC Academic Honor Roll and Lebanon Valley Dean’s List.  
 
 
AGATHA MALINOWSKI
Women’s Tennis – Stevens Institute of Technology
Agatha Malinowski (Kinnelon, N.J.) is a two-time All-MAC Freedom First Team selection. She led the Ducks to the 2022 MAC Freedom team title. At the MAC Individual Championships, Malinowski is a three-time No. 1 singles runner-up, a No. 1 doubles champion (2022) and No. 1 doubles runner-up (2019). Before joining the MAC, Malinowski was named the 2019 Empire 8 Conference Player and Rookie of the Year.

Malinowski is majoring in financial engineering and quantitative finance with an expected graduation date with her master’s degree in the spring of 2023. She currently holds a 3.90 GPA. Malinowski is a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree and a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete.
 
 
CARL TYCE
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – DeSales University
Carl Tyce (Highland Falls, N.Y.) is a four-time All-MAC recipient during the outdoor season with an individual title in the 4x800-meter relay. He finished runner-up in the 800-meter run and 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays. Tyce earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 800-meter in 2022.
 
Tyce is majoring in biology with an expected graduation date in the spring of 2023. He currently holds a 3.99 GPA. Tyce has earned several academic honors, including Academic All-MAC, CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-District and USTFCCCA All-Academic
 
 
JULIA PENA
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – York College
Julia Pena (Highland Mills, N.Y.) won the outdoor pole vault title in 2022 and finished second in both the 100-meter hurdles and the long jump. She earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in 2022. Prior to joining the MAC, Pena earned the 2020 CAC Rookie of the Year award.

Pena is majoring in forensic chemistry with an expected graduation date in the spring of 2023. She currently holds a 3.98 GPA.  Pena is a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree and a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree. She is a seven-time York College Dean’s List member.  
 
 
MASON NISSLEY
Men’s Volleyball – Messiah University
Mason Nissley (Manheim, Pa.) is a three-time All-MAC First Team honoree and a two-time MAC Player of the Year (2021, 2023). Nissley is a four-time AVCA First Team All-American and was named the 2021 AVCA National Player of the Year. Nissley led the Falcons to three-straight MAC title matches, including the conference title in 2021.

Nissley is majoring in finance with an expected graduation date in the spring of 2023. He currently holds a 3.98 GPA. Nissley was named the 2021 CoSIDA At-Large Academic All-American of the Year. He is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team selection. Nissley is a three-time Academic All-MAC selection.
