Messiah Earns Top Pick in MAC Commonwealth Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Preseason Poll

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Men's Soccer) – The Messiah Falcons were selected as the favorite in the 2023 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) men's soccer coaches. The Falcons collected seven first-place votes for a total of 49 points.

In 2022, the Falcons captured their 17th MAC Commonwealth title defeating Widener 5-0. Messiah's Cole Cristian was named the MAC Commonwealth Championship Most Valuable Player (MVP). 

Messiah's 2022 season came to an end in the second round of the NCAA tournament with a 4-3 loss in penalty kicks against Williams College. The Falcons completed the season with an overall record of 20-0-2.

The United Soccer Coaches organization announced its 2023 preseason poll on August 1 ranking Messiah 12th. 

The 2023 season is set to begin on Saturday, September 1. Conference play will begin on Saturday, September 30 with a seven-game five-week schedule.

The 2023 MAC Commonwealth Men's Soccer Championship is set for November 1 to November 4. The top-four seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
