NEWTOWN, Pa. (Baseball) – The Alvernia Golden Wolves were selected as the favorite in the 2024 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth baseball coaches. The Golden Wolves collected three first-place votes from opposing coaches for a total of 45 points. Messiah and York followed with two first-place votes, while Hood received one.

In 2023, Alvernia finished runner-up to Lebanon Valley College for the MAC Commonwealth Championship. The Flying Dutchmen swept the Golden Wolves in a two-game series.
The Golden Wolves season ended in the ECAC Championship with a loss to Penn State Behrend, while the Flying Dutchmen finished runner-up at the NCAA Regional.
The 2024 season is set to begin on Saturday, Feb. 17. Conference play will begin on Friday, March 15.
The 2024 MAC Commonwealth Baseball Championship is set for May 3-4 and May 10-11. The top-four seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
