MAC Weekly Awards Announcement (February 24, 2025)

27 student-athletes were recognized for performances from Feb. 17 – Feb. 23.

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Conference News) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its conference weekly award recipients for the week ending February 23, 2025. A total of 27 student-athletes were recognized for performances from Feb. 17, 2024 to Feb. 23, 2025.

MEN’S BASKETBALL (#MAChoops)
MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Tate Landis (York / Jr., G / Lititz, Pa.) powered the Spartans to two more wins to end the regular season and clinch a share of the MAC Commonwealth regular season championship. In the Wednesday win over Widener, Tate poured in a career-high 24 points , three assists and three steals in his 33 minutes of work. Landis was 8-for-13 from the floor, 7-for-11 from three and 1-for-1 from the stripe. The seven made three pointers were a new career-high for the junior. In the dramatic Saturday win over Hood, Landis had 12 points, five rebounds, four assists, a steal and a blocked shot in 32 minutes of play. For the week, Landis averaged 18 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals in his 65 minutes of action. He shot 52.4% (11-for-21) from the floor, including 8-for-16 (50%) from three and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. For the season, Landis is averaging 8.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He is shooting 37.3% from the floor and 35.3% from three as he has 38 made three pointers. 

MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Antonio Redding (Delaware Valley / Jr. / Orlando, Fla.) delivered a standout performance this week, setting five career highs in points, field goals made and attempted, three-pointers made, and free throws made and attempted. He averaged an impressive 36.5 points per game, shooting 68.75% (22-for-32) from the field, 75% (12-for-16) from beyond the arc, and 94.4% (17-for-18) from the free-throw line. Additionally, he contributed three rebounds and four assists. His efforts helped the Aggies go 2-0 in conference play, securing the No. 2 ranking in the playoffs. In the 78-72 victory over Stevens, Redding recorded a career-high 47 points, outscoring all players by 24. He posted a double-double, knocking down eight three-pointers, 14 field goals, and 11-of-12 free throws, leading the Aggies past the Ducks.Against DeSales, Redding remained clutch at the free-throw line, going 6-for-6, including four crucial free throws in the final minute to help seal the win. He also sank four three-pointers and grabbed three rebounds, finishing with 26 points in the 75-72 victory over the Bulldogs.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL (#MAChoops)
MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Chloe Milanesi (Messiah / Gr., G / Morristown, N.J.)  led the Falcons to another undefeated week in MAC Commonwealth play, wrapping up the Falcons eighth undefeated season in conference play in program history. In the opening game of the week, Milanesi led the Falcons with 17 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the Falcons 60-31 win over Stevenson. Milanesi continued her great week with 12 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two assists in the Falcons 71-37 win over Eastern. 

MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Brielle Reidinger (Lebanon Valley / Jr., F / Easton, Pa.) had a pair of double-doubles to lead the Dutchmen to a 2-0 week where LVC never trailed to win the program's first MAC Freedom Regular Season title and the top seed in the conference tournament. The forward had 23 points and 25 rebounds with seven blocks and four assists while shooting 50 percent from the floor. Reidinger began the week with 10 points and 10 rebounds in just 24 minutes of action during a 59-33 victory over King's. She then had a huge game with 13 points and 15 rebounds with six blocks as LVC defeated Arcadia 73-55 in a first-place battle.

MEN’S ICE HOCKEY (#MAChky)
MAC Offensive Player of the Week
Sawyer Senio (Alvernia / Jr., F / Red Deer, Alberta) helped Alvernia clinch a playoff appearance with a four point performance in a 7-0 win over Lebanon Valley on Saturday. Senio assisted on Alvernia’s second, third, and sixth goals of the night. He also scored Alvernia’s fourth goal himself. 

MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Jacob Stern (Alvernia / So., G / Exeter, Pa.) was in net for Alvernia as the Golden Wolves secured their first shutout in program history, clinching a playoff berth in the process. Stern matched a career-high 34 saves in net for Alvernia as the Golden Wolves defeated Lebanon Valley, 7-0. His 34 save performance also was good for his first career shutout as well.

WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY (#MAChky)
MAC Offensive Player of the Week
Bella Kaczorowski (Wilkes / Sr., F / Anchorage, Alaska) scored two goals and assisted one to help Wilkes to a 7-1 win over Hood, clinching a new program record 20 wins in the regular season. She finished the day +3.

MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Mia Frisoni (Lebanon Valley / So., G / Glenville, N.Y.) set a new program record with her fifth shutout of the year as the sophomore led LVC to a 1-1 weekend with 58 saves in a pair of road games. The goalie started the weekend with 34 saves in a tough 2-1 overtime defeat at Alvernia. She then finished the regular season with 24 saves in a 5-0 victory at Stevenson for her eighth win of the year. Frisoni finished the regular season leading the conference in goals against average and save percentage. 

MEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD (#MACtf) 
MAC Track Athlete of the Week
Sam Knowles (Widener / Jr. / Ephrata, Pa.) would travel up to Cornell's Marc Deneault Invitational on Saturday. Knowles would compete in the 400-meter dash where he clocked a 48.45 to take second overall. His time would be a season best and move him to tied for sixth in the nation.

MAC Field Athlete of the Week
Matayo McGraw (Widener / Jr. / Willow Grove, Pa.) would compete in the triple jump, long jump, and high jump. His triple jump resulted in a 14.67-meter distance to take first overall. His long jump marked a new personal best with a 6.58-meter distance which moved him into seventh in the nation. His final event would be the high jump where he hit a 1.92-meter height.

WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD (#MACtf) 
MAC Track Athlete of the Week
Kayla Robinson (Widener / Sr. / Bristol, Conn.) would compete in the 60-meter hurdles. The Bristol, Conn. native would race to a new personal best 9.33 to take first overall. Her time moved her into first overall in conference standings.

MAC Field Athlete of the Week
Savana Dodd (Eastern / So. / Glassboro, N.J.) continued her tremendous sophomore campaign with another strong showing in the field at the Keogh Invitational at Haverford on Saturday. The sophomore broke her own record in the Shot Put, finishing second with a toss of 11.98m, good for the fifth-best mark in the MAC this season. Additionally, Dodd won the Weight Throw, throwing over 15 meters for the third consecutive week. It was also the second consecutive week that she recorded the furthest mark amongst all field athletes in the MAC.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL (#MACvb)
MAC Offensive Player of the Week
Logan Dougherty (King’s / So. OH / Emmaus, Pa.) accumulated 41 kills, seven assists, and three aces in the Monarchs' 2-1 week. The sophomore outside hitter averaged 13.66 kills and a hitting percentage of .572 across three games. Dougherty had 18 kills, one assist, one ace, and a hitting percentage of .471 against #16 Misericordia. He produced 12 kills, one assist, and a hitting percentage of .400 in the win over Wilson. Dougherty had 11 kills, five assists, and two aces with a hitting percentage of .846 against Bryn Athyn. 

MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Gavin Gilhool (King’s / Sr., MB / Elizabethtown, Pa.) produced 12 blocks in King's 2-1 week. He averaged four blocks a game. Gilhool collected three blocks against Misericordia. On Saturday, the senior had nine total blocks against Wilson and Bryn Athyn. 

WRESTLING (#MACwrestle)
Wrestler of the Week
Jack Bailey (Stevens / Sr. / Point Pleasant, N.J.) began his day with three more in the Round of 32, Round of 16, and quarterfinals, including one in 36 seconds. After an 8-1 decision win in the semifinal, Bailey made it a quartet of falls in the final, pinning his opponent in the final 15 seconds of the second period.

MEN’S LACROSSE (#MAClax)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Robbie Wiley (Hood / Sr., M / York, Pa.) put up 11 shots and scored twice in the explosive third quarter for the Blazers in a thrilling double overtime win. With no action in the first overtime, Wiley went to work one-on-one in the clutch and his spin and fire found the net and sent Hood into the win column. 

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Nash Womack (York / Jr., G / King of Prussia, Pa.) fueled a strong defensive effort as the Spartans prevailed late in a 6-5 victory over Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. Womack was sensational in goal as he racked up 16 saves and posted six of those saves in a huge fourth-quarter shutout. His final save came with three seconds left which ultimately clinched the comeback win for York. Womack has been a standout performer so far this season as he is averaging 15.7 saves per game through the first three games. 

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Kyle McLaughlin (Arcadia / Sr., A / Doylestown, Pa.) collected eight points this past week on four goals and three assists. McLaughlin led the Knights to overtime against Haverford where he scored one goal and collected two assists. McLaughlin collected three goals and two assists against Susquehanna.

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Ford Carney (Stevens / Gr., SSM / Garden City, N.Y.) tallied two ground balls and two caused turnovers in 13-7 win over Springfield…registered first goal of the season in the victory.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE (#MAClax)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Sarah Chernis (Albright / Sr., A / Center Moriches, N.Y.) had a career day leading the Lions to their first win of the season beating Elizabethtown 19-13. Chernis finished the day with 3 goals, 6 assists for 9 total points. The assist and point total are new career highs for Chernis. The nine points are the most of anyone in the Commonwealth through two games to start the year.

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Emma Hagg (Messiah / Sr., D / Lititz, Pa.) helped anchor a strong Messiah defense. In a 17-12 loss to No. 9 Gettysburg on Wednesday, Hagg led both teams with eight draw controls and added two ground balls and two caused turnovers. In a 17-6 win over Juniata on Saturday, Hagg again led all players in draw controls with nine and also in caused turnovers with five. She collected five ground balls while registering zero turnovers. 

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Bethany Cohee (Lebanon Valley / Jr., A / New Oxford, Pa.) had a career game with 10 points to lead the Dutchmen to a 19-13 victory over Lycoming in the team's only game of the week. The junior recorded her first career hat trick with three goals while adding a career-high seven assists. Cohee assisted on LVC's first four goals of the game as the Dutchmen took a 4-2 lead after the first five minutes. She scored two of her three goals in the first quarter and then assisted on LVC's game-winning 14th goal in the fourth quarter before scoring the next goal to give the Dutchmen a 15-13 advantage.

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Emma Williamson (DeSales / Jr., M / Seaford, N.Y.) had a sensational week totaling eight caused turnovers and 14 ground balls to go along with two goals and three assists in the two Bulldog games, both wins over Alvernia and Wilson. In the win over Alvernia she had five ground balls and two caused turnovers as the defense held AU to just three goals. In the win over Wilson, Williamson tied the single-game record with nine ground balls and had six caused turnovers. She added two goals and three assists on the offensive end in the win over Wilson as the Bulldogs posted their first-ever shutout win in team history.

BASEBALL (#MACbaseball)
MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week
Christian Foltz (Messiah / Jr., LHP / Harrisburg, Pa.) pitched a complete game shutout in the Falcons 1-0 win over No. 16 Randolph-Macon on Sunday afternoon. Foltz allowed only four base runners on two hits, a walk, and a hit by pitch, but struck out eight batters. Foltz even cruised in the final inning for the Falcons striking out the side to end the game.

MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Nick Barton (Albright / Gr., 1B / Wilmington, Del.) put together two great games at the plate in Albright's season opening double-header win over Penn State Hazelton. Barton went 5-8 at the plate with two doubles, 6 RBIs and four runs scored. Barton did not record one strikeout in all 8 at bats putting good swings on the ball all day long. 

MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week
Ashton Johnson (DeSales / Sr., P / Nazareth, Pa.) led the Bulldogs to a win in their season opener over New Paltz pitching six strong innings allowing just one run and striking out three.  He only walked one batter and allowed just three hits over his six innings as the Bulldogs won their season opener 7-6.

MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Gavin Zavorski (DeSales / Sr., C / Feasterville, Pa.) had a terrific start to the year helping DSU sweep a doubleheader with a 7-6 and 17-10 win over New Paltz on Sunday afternoon. She went 5-for-8 (.625) with four runs scored and two RBIs in the two games. Zavorski walked twice, was hit by a pitch, and stole two bases in the two games posting a .727 on-base percentage.
