Championship Field Set for Inaugural MAC Ice Hockey Championships

Two teams will receive the Automatic Qualifier to the NCAA Tournament

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Men's and Women's Ice Hockey) - After joining as associate members, the Wilkes University Colonels have claimed the no. 1 seed in both the men's and women's inaugural MAC Ice Hockey Championship Tournament for the 2024-25 season.

This season marks the first time the Middle Atlantic Conference is eligible for an automatic qualifier in both men's and women's ice hockey. The MAC has sponsored the sport since the 2017-2018 season, but was not eligible for an automatic berth. With the addition of Misericordia University Men's Ice Hockey, Hood College Women's Ice Hockey and the addition of Wilkes University and Neumann University as associate members, the winner will receive an automatic qualifier to the NCAA DIII Ice Hockey Tournament. 

Men's Field
The Colonels finished conference play with a 16-3-2 record to claim the no. 1 seed. The reigning regular season champions Stevenson Mustangs claimed the no. 2 seed with a 13-6-2 record in conference play. Neumann and Alvernia claimed the final two spots in the tournament. 

Semifinal 1 (Mar. 1 at 7:00 PM): No. 4 Alvernia at No. 1 Wilkes
Semifinal 2 (Mar. 1 at 3:00 PM): No. 3 Neumann at No. 2 Stevenson 

Women's Field
The Colonels claimed the no. 1 seed on the women's side with a 18-2-1 record. Its only losses came from the no. 3 seed Lebanon Valley. The reigning 2024 co-champions of Arcadia claimed the no. 2 seed after finishing 17-2-2 in conference play. Alvernia claimed the final spot in the tournament. 

Semifinal 1 (Mar. 1 at 3:30 PM): No. 4 Alvernia at No. 1 Wilkes
Semifinal 2 (Mar. 1 at 5:30 PM): No. 3 Lebanon Valley at No. 2 Arcadia
