NEWTOWN, Pa. (Conference News) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its conference weekly award recipients for the week ending March 30, 2025. A total of 22 student-athletes were recognized for performances from March 24, 2025 to March 30, 2025.
BASEBALL (#MACbaseball)
MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week
Nick Ferraioli (Alvernia / Jr., P / Marlboro, N.J.) picked up a seven-inning complete game shutout win on the mound for Alvernia at Widener on Saturday. Ferraioli scattered just four hits across seven innings and struck out five members of the Pride. He did not allow a run in the 4-0 shutout victory.
MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Evan Wagaman (Messiah / Sr., OF / Chambersburg, Pa.) led the Falcons with an impressive week batting, .333 with three home runs, a double, 10 RBIs, and eight runs scored. Wagaman led off the week with two home runs in the Falcons 5-4 loss in extra innings to the fifteenth-ranked Bullets of Gettysburg College. Wagaman went 2-4 in the Falcons 5-2 win over Stevenson on Friday with a home run and two RBIs. With the two RBIs, Wagaman broke the Messiah program record for career RBIs with 131. Wagaman finished the week with two hits and three RBIs in the Falcons two wins over Stevenson on Saturday.
MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week
Justin Doyle (Stevens / Gr., P / Henryville, Ind.) tossed a seven-inning complete game as Stevens toppled FDU-Florham 3-0 on Saturday…allowed just two hits (both runners were thrown out on the base-paths) while walking one in matching a season-high with nine strikeouts.
MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Liam DeRubertis (Stevens / Sr., OF / Pearl River, N.Y.) went 9-17 in a 4-0 week, with 2 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 4 RBI and 8 runs scored…4-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored against RV Montclair State Tuesday…1-for-4 with a double in opener FDU Friday and 1-for-3 with a triple in game 1 Saturday…fell a single shy of the cycle in the night-cap, going 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI, including a home run to deep center field…added two stolen bases on the week.

MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Isiac Nafziger (Hood / Jr., A / Millersville, Pa.) totaled four points, three assists, and one goal to lead Hood past the Green Terror in 10-9 overtime win. Two of four assists came in the fourth to help tie and give the Blazers the lead late.
MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Zachary Klym (Eastern / Sr., GK / Shamong, N.J.) stood on his head this past Saturday in a matchup with No. 11 Stevens Institute of Technology. The Shamong, N.J. native faced 53 shots from the Ducks, making 18 saves and allowing just 16 goals against a lethal Ducks' attack.
MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Connor Bevan (Misericordia / Jr., A / Bethlehem, Pa.) had 11 points (6g, 5a) in a 2-0 week. Had three goals and two assists in a 16-6 win over Marywood and had three goals and two assists in a 10-9 sin over Albright. Assisted on the game-winner with 10 seconds remaining against Albright.
MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Taylor Wikert (DeSales / Jr., LSM / Fogelsville, Pa.) was the leader of a defense that allowed just six goals in DSU's lone game of the week, a 12-6 win over Widener University. He tallied seven caused turnovers in the win and had six ground balls. Wikert's seven caused turnovers are the fourth most in a game at DeSales. He added one assist in the win.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE (#MAClax)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Grace Pettitt (Messiah / So., A / Salisbury, Md.) continued her offensive prowess with a three goal, three assist performance to lead the Falcons with six points in the 17-10 win over the Stevenson Mustangs. Pettitt also contributed two ground balls.
MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Bella Garabo (York / Gr., GK / Hillsdale, N.J.) averaged 10.0. saves per game and led the team in ground balls (11) while ranking second in caused turnovers (3) in a 1-1 week for the No. 9 York College women's lacrosse squad. She started the week with a season-high 14 saves in an 11-6 win at Dickinson as she held her opponent to single digits for the sixth time this season. In Saturday's top-10 tilt with No. 6 Salisbury, Garabo faced a season-high 26 shots and managed to hold the Gulls below their season average of 12 goals per game.
MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Christina DiGuglielmo (DeSales / Jr., A / Floral Park, N.Y.) led DeSales to another perfect week, wins over Centenary University and Immaculata University, with eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in the two games. She opened the week with six goals and three assists for nine points vs. Centenary on Wednesday. DiGuglielmo finished the week with two goals and eight assists for 10 points. The eight assists vs. Immaculata are a new single-game high at DeSales. In the process, DiGuglielmo broke the single-season assist record at DeSales recording her 43rd assist of the season.
MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Danielle Sieja (DeSales / Jr., M / Hamilton Square, N.J.) was a force in the defensive midfield helping DSU allow just four goals in its two games last week, wins over Centenary and Immaculata. She had five caused turnovers, eight ground balls, and six draw controls in the two games. Sieja started with three CT's, three ground balls, and two draw controls vs. Centenary and had two CT's, five ground balls, and four draw controls vs. Immaculata. She also added two goals and two assists on the offensive end in the two wins.
SOFTBALL (#MACsoftball)
MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week
Natalie Rietema (York / Jr., RHP / Ringwood, N.J.) went 2-1 for the week for the Spartans. She began the week with a complete game seven inning performance against Susquehanna as she allowed fiveruns, three earned on six hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks in the win. Against Hood on Saturday, she again threw seven innings as she allowed three runs, one earned, on six hits with four strikeouts. Rietema closed out the week with a four-hit shutout of DeSales on Sunday. She struck out six and did not allow an extra base hit in the game. For the week, she was 2-1 with three complete games including one shutout. She tossed 20 innings, allowing eight runs, four earned, on 16 hits with 21 strikeouts and a 1.40 ERA.
MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Allie Book (Messiah / Jr., 1B / Fallston, Md.) led the Falcons to a 2-2 week with astonishing performances at the plate. In the two games against Catholic, Book had a batting average of over .400 with a 2-3 and 3-3 performance for the Junior. Book tallied three doubles between those two games while accounting for one run. In the sweep over Stevenson University, Book finished with a .448 batting average in game one, batting 2-3 from the plate with three runs and one RBI. In the game two 8-0 win, Book went 1-3 from the plate, with one RBI, and one run, batting .443.
MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week
Madisyn vonFrisch (King’s / So., P / Weatherly, Pa.) went 3-0 in her three appearances, tossing for 15.0 innings and posting a .93 ERA as she allowed four earned runs on 16 hits with 12 strikeouts and just two walks. She opened the week with a win as the starter, throwing 4.0 innings, and giving up one earned run on three hits with three strikeouts and no walks in the 4-2 win over Penn State Schuylkill. In the 6-5 win over Lancaster Bible, she threw the final 4.0 innings of relief to pick up the win, allowing just three hits in her scoreless outing while fanning six and walking just one. vonFrisch then finished the week with the complete 7.0-inning game win over Arcadia, defeating the Knights 5-3 while giving up three earned runs on 10 hits while striking out three with just one walk.

Megan Curtis (Stevens / Sr., UT / Southampton, Pa.) went 11-for-17 with 7 runs scored, 6 RBI, 2 doubles and a triple in a 4-2 week…went 1-for-1 with a walk in game 1 against nationally-ranked MIT…1-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases in 2nd game against MIT…3-for-3 with 2 doubles and two runs scored in opener against Drew…1-for-2 with a triple and a hit by pitch in game 2 against Drew…2-for-3 with an RBI in opener against FDU-Florham…3-for-5 with RBI, run scored and a stolen bases as Stevens completed the sweep against FDU-Florham.

MAC Track Athlete of the Week
Joe Chukoskie (Lebanon Valley / Jr. / Kempton, Pa.) won the 10,000 meters at the Danny Curran Invitational on Friday evening with a school record time of 30:25.07 to top a field of 63 finishers. His time is 19th in the nation so far this season and is ranked first in the AARTFC, MAC, and Mid-Atlantic Region. The junior broke a 44-year record by almost 10 seconds beating the previous record of 30:34.04 run by Joel Carpenter in 1981. He won the race by almost 10 seconds as Messiah's Louka Fetter finished second in 30:34.70.
MAC Field Athlete of the Week
Andrew Mott (York / Gr. / Dillsburg, Pa.) nabbed a pair first-place finishes on Friday in the discus throw and shot put at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener. He rewrote his own Middle Atlantic Conference and school record in the discus with a throw of 55.57m which surpassed his previous personal-best throw of 53.42m set in 2023. Mott also put together a strong performance in the shot put with a winning throw of 16.84m to finish 1.68m ahead of his next competitor. He ranks first in the nation in both events after the weekend.
WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD (#MACtf)
MAC Track Athlete of the Week
Ellie Kozich (DeSales / Fy., Mountain Top, Pa.) took home first place in the 10K at the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University over the weekend with a time of 36:56.42. The time is the second fastest in team history and is the fastest time in the MAC this season.
MAC Field Athlete of the Week
Kayla Robinson (Widener / Sr., / Bristol, Conn.) would open her outdoor season at the Danny Curran Invitational where she competed in long jump and triple jump on Saturday afternoon. In the long jump the Bristol, Conn. native marked a 5.65-meter jump to take second. In the triple jump, she placed first with a 12.05-meter distance.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL (#MACvb)
MAC Offensive Player of the Week
Matthew Christ (Widener / Sr., RS / Newfoundland, N.J.) tallied 83 total kills to average just under .500 in attacks. Christ helped the Pride to 2-2 week in conference play with 27 kills and a 3-1 win over Eastern and 22 kills and a sweep over Hood. The Newfoundland, N.J. native also registered seven service aces.
MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Ryan Givens (Messiah / Sr., MH / Mountville, Pa.) played a key role in the No. 8 Messiah University Falcons pair of conference sweeps over No. 17 Misericordia on Wednesday night and Arcadia on Saturday afternoon. In the win over No. 17 Misericordia, Givens contributed three blocks with four kills and four service aces. In the weekend win over Arcadia, Givens collected five blocks with seven kills and four service aces.
