MAC Weekly Awards Announcement (April 7, 2025)

22 student-athletes were recognized for performances from March 31 – April 6

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Conference News) The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its conference weekly award recipients for the week ending April 6, 2025. A total of 22 student-athletes were recognized for performances from March 31, 2025 to April 6, 2025.

BASEBALL (#MACbaseball)
MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week
Brandon Purdy (York / P, Sr. / Churchville, Pa.) twirled a complete game four-hitter in the Spartans' game-two win over Widener in the weekend series. Purdy went the distance for his first complete game of the year and fourth of his career on Saturday. He allowed one run on four singles as the Spartans captured game two of the series. He struck out four and did not walk a batter as he faced 27 batters during his outing. The victory is Purdy's second of the year and the 13th of his Spartan career.

MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Michael Tinneny (York / SS, Sr. / Collegeville, Pa.) led the Spartans to a perfect 4-0 week with a win over No. 16 Rowan and a series sweep of Widener over the weekend. Tinneny began the week with a 2-for-4 performance against Rowan as he scored two runs and also drove in two with his third home run of the year in the first inning of the 9-3 win over the Profs. He followed that with a hit, a run and an RBI in the Friday win over the Pride in the series opener. In game one on Saturday, Tinneny was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a double in the 12-1 win. Tinneny closed out the week with three more hits, two runs scored an RBI and a walk in the series finale. Tinneny finished the week hitting .600 (9-for-15) with eight runs scored, a double, a home run and four RBI. He had 13 total bases and slugged .867 for the week. He also had two walks and a hit by pitch as he owned a .632 on-base percentage in the four games. Tinneny was also perfect in the field in 14 fielding chances at short for the week.

MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week
Hunter Williams (Lebanon Valley / P, So. / Mountville, Pa.) pitched eight strong innings with four strikeouts to lead the Dutchmen to a key 1-0 victory in the series finale with Misericordia to earn a big series victory and move the Dutchmen into third place in the conference standings. Williams struck out four Cougars and scattered six hits and three walks as LVC recorded its first shutout of the season. Williams received strong defense behind him as the Dutchmen recorded two double plays and held a high-powered Cougar offense without a run for just the second time this season.

MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Parker Muratore (FDU - Florham / OF, Jr. / Branchburg, N.J.) went 8-for-12 (.667) in four games played this week against St. Joseph's Brooklyn and DeSales. He also hit four RBIs and scored nine runs by himself. Notable performances of the week came against DeSales where he went 4-for-4 with two runs scored in a 5-4 win against DeSales on April 4. He also went 3-for-3 with four runs scored in FDU's 17-9 win against DeSales on April 5. Muratore is top five in on-base percentage in the MAC Freedom this season, while being top ten in batting average, runs scored, walks, and sacrifice bunts this season. 

MEN’S LACROSSE (#MAClax)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week

Davis Fisher (York / A, Jr. / Arnold, Md.) had a huge week in leading No. 19 York to a pair of wins including a 20-11 win over No. 7 Gettysburg on Wednesday. In the victory over the Bullets, Davis had five points on a goal and four assists. He added two ground balls in the win as the Spartans scored ten goals in the first quarter against the Bullets. In the Commonwealth opener against Albright, Fisher tied a school record with seven assists in the victory over the Lions. For the week, Fisher had a team-leading 12 points on a goal and 11 assists with three ground balls and a caused turnover. Fisher has notched 47 points on 17 goals and 30 assists this year. He leads the Commonwealth with 30 total assists and is second in assists per game at 2.73. Fisher is second in the league in total points and points per game (4.27).

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Tyler Merchant (Stevenson / G, So. / Tampa, Fla.) stood in goal lifting No. 12 Stevenson to a 22-8 win over Eastern on Saturday evening. The sophomore notched a .588 save percentage on the evening, making 10 saves, while also being a crucial factor in the Mustangs finishing with 18 of 19 successful clears.

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Jake Bollinger (Lebanon Valley / A, Gr. / Glen Rock, Pa.) became the LVC all-time point leader in a 2-0 week for the Dutchmen with 12 points on 10 goals and two assists. The attacker began the week with a career-high 10 points on eight goals and two assists to lead the Dutchmen to a 15-12 road win at Neumann. Bollinger broke the career points record in the win. The graduate student then scored two goals on five shots as LVC won its first conference game of the year in a 15-7 road victory at King's.

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Sheadan Makosy (Lebanon Valley / D, So. / Chambersburg, Pa.) led the Dutchmen to a 2-0 week with 12 ground balls and six caused turnovers in a pair of road victories. The sophomore had five caused turnovers, three ground balls, and an assist as the Dutchmen closed out non-conference play with a 15-12 victory at Neumann. He then had nine ground balls and one caused turnover in a big 15-7 victory at King's in the first conference game of the year.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE (#MAClax)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week

Hannah Gawne (Messiah / M, Jr. / Lancaster, Pa.) had a successful week for the Falcons offense with two goals and an assist in the Falcons 11-7 win over Widener on Wednesday. She also added a draw control and ground ball. In the 16-2 win over Hood College on Saturday, Gawne scored four goals on five shots and added a draw control and ground ball.

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Emma Hagg (Messiah / D, Sr. / Lititz, Pa.) had a stellar week in the backfield as part of the Falcons 2-0 conference week. In Wednesday night's 11-7 win over Widener University, Hagg led all players with six draw controls and three caused turnovers and added two ground balls. In the 16-2 win over Hood College on Saturday, Hagg led all players in draw controls, caused turnovers, and ground balls. She collected seven draw controls, three caused turnovers, and four ground balls in the win.

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Stefanie Sellitto (Stevens / A, Jr. / Webster, N.Y.) set the school-record with her 302nd draw control in the Ducks' victory over Arcadia on Wednesday. She totaled eight goals, four assists, 21 draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers as Stevens opened MAC Freedom play with two wins. Sellitto scored five goals and added two assists, while corralling nine draw controls in 21-4 win over Arcadia on Wednesday. She pulled in 12 draw controls, one off of her season-high, while adding three goals, two assists, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers in 19-4 win over Misericordia on Saturday.

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Chloe Moser (Lebanon Valley / D, Fy. / Boyertown, Pa.) led the Dutchmen to a big 2-0 start to conference play with 21 draw controls, three caused turnovers, and two ground balls while also guarding two of the conference's leading point-recorders. The defender started the week with a game-high nine draw controls in a big 17-13 victory at DeSales to hand the Bulldogs their first loss of the season. The Dutchmen finished the week with a dominant 20-4 victory over King's where Moser had a game-high 12 draw controls and a caused turnover while anchoring the defense that allowed just nine total shots.

SOFTBALL (#MACsoftball)
MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week

Fallon Feaser (Messiah / P/UT, So. / Newville, Pa.) was lights out in the circle, leading the Falcons to a 4-0 week. In the 9-1 win over Arcadia University, Feaser pitched a complete game, giving up one run while striking out five batters. Against Hood College, Feaser again picked up a win by pitching a complete game, this time with a 12-0 shutout while striking out four batters, giving up just two hits.

MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Brooke Hauck (Alvernia / OF, Sr. / Reading, Pa.) batted .500 for the Golden Wolves on the week, going 7-for-14 with seven runs scored and seven RBIs. In a doubleheader against Misericordia on Tuesday, Hauck combined for 3-for-7 with three runs scored and an RBI. Hauck then had a career-day against Eastern in a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader on Saturday. In game one of the day, Hauck hit two home runs - including a grand slam - going 2-for-3 with two runs scored, six RBIs, and a walk. Hauck then went 2-for-4 in game two with two runs scored.
MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week
Madison Karns (Delaware Valley / P, So. / New Windsor, Md.) delivered a dominant week in the circle, pitching nine shutout innings across two appearances and earning a pair of wins over King's College—allowing just one hit in the process. In game one, Karns threw a complete game (7.0 innings), striking out three and carrying a no-hitter into the seventh inning before surrendering the only hit she’d allowed all week. In game two, the sophomore entered in extra innings after King's tied the game late. She needed just 13 pitches to shut the door—inducing a pop out and five ground outs without allowing a hit—to lock down her ninth win of the season.

MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Holly Grube (Lebanon Valley / 2B/P, Fy. / New Providence, Pa.) led the Dutchmen to a 3-0 week including a big conference sweep at Misericordia with a .545 average, a 1.000 slugging percentage, and two complete games in the circle. The first-year had three extra-base hits with two doubles and a home run while scoring five runs and knocking in two. She started the week with a 3-for-4 day with a double, a stolen base, and two runs scored in an 11-0 victory at Franklin & Marshall. Grube also pitched in the game and held the Diplomats to one hit in six innings. Grube then went 1-for-3 with a run scored in a 5-2 game one victory at Misericordia. She also pitched a complete game to earn her second win of the week. Grube finished the week with a home run and a double as the Dutchmen completed the sweep of the Cougars with a 10-1 five-inning victory. Grube knocked in the first run of the game with a double in the first inning and then homered in the second inning.

MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD (#MACtf)
MAC Track Athlete of the Week

Andrew Novrocki (King's / Sr. / Larksville, Pa.) won the 400-meter dash at the Ursinus Track & Field Festival with a time of 48.80 seconds, which ranks third in the MAC this outdoor season and 40th in NCAA Division III. He also finished ninth overall in the 200-meter dash in 22.42 seconds which ranks eighth in the MAC.

MAC Field Athlete of the Week
Nick Guerieri (Lebanon Valley / Gr. / Yardley, Pa.) had a great day at the Millersville Metrics with three top-eight finishes. He won the javelin with a career-best toss of 61.76 meters (202'7") which is the 11th-best throw in the nation this year. His mark is second in the MAC, third in the Mid-Atlantic Region, and fifth in AARTFC. Guerieri also finished seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 42.82 meters (140'6") and eighth in the shot put with a toss of 13.11 meters (43'0.25").

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD (#MACtf)
MAC Track Athlete of the Week
Hailey Shreffler (Eastern / Sr. / Nesquehoning, Pa.) continued her tremendous senior season with another excellent showing on the track at Millersville. In her outdoor season debut at the 42nd Millersville Metrics, the senior from Nesquehoning won the 800m with a time of 2:15.86. She led the race from start to finish, and finished the race with a six second lead. Her time now ranks third in the NCAA DIII Metro Region. Shreffler also raced as part of Eastern's 4x400 relay team, helping the Eagles place second with a time of 4:14.95.

MAC Field Athlete of the Week
Brandy Varner (King's / Jr. / Plymouth, Pa.) won the shot put with a mark of 12.90 meters at the Misericordia Twilight Meet, which is a personal best, the top mark in the MAC, and the 22nd-best mark in NCAA Division III. She also won the discus with a throw of 41.93 meters and placed sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 40.87 meters.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL (#MACvb)
MAC Offensive Player of the Week
Alex Kagoro (Messiah / OH, Jr. / Irondequoit, N.Y.) hit .552 with 19 kills in a 3-0 sweep over Marymount to close out the regular season. Kagoro also contributed an assist, two service aces, and led Messiah with six digs.

MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Cameron Birch (Arcadia / L, Jr. / Boiling Springs, Pa.) broke the single season dig record with 209 after the Knights 3-0 sweep over Eastern that clinched a playoff spot for them. Birch collected nine digs, nine kills, and two assists in their win.
