Leandro Pares Joins MAC Office as Assistant Executive Director

Leandro Pares will aid in all communications efforts

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Conference News) – On Thursday, Executive Director Megan Morrison announced the addition of Leandro Pares as the Assistant Executive Director for Communications. Pares officially begins his duties July 7, 2025.

In this role, Pares will assist in overseeing the conference's communications efforts including, website management, social media strategy, statistics and records, awards processes, broadcasting, and more for the conference's 28 sports and 41 championships.

"I want to sincerely thank Megan Morrison, Jenna Dickey and the rest of the hiring committee for the opportunity to return to a conference that has been a cornerstone of my academic and professional journey," said Pares. "Having spent my entire academic career within the MAC, it means a great deal to give back to a community that has given so much to me. I look forward to continuing to grow in this role and contributing to the conference's strong tradition of excellence in storytelling and communications." 

Pares graduated from DeSales in 2023 with a degree in Mathematics. During his undergraduate time, he served as a student assistant, helping with in-game statistics. More recently, Pares worked to earn his MBA in Business Analytics and served as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant with the DeSales Athletics Department. 

He was involved in all aspects of the daily operations including in-game statistics, authored releases, updated the DeSales athletics website, and assisted the game management staff. 

Pares held a brief internship with the conference office in the spring of 2025. He assisted with the all-conference awards process, updated the MAC website, assisted with scheduling, and much more. 

"Leo has a deep understanding of collegiate athletics communications and a passion for college athletics," said Morrison. "His passion will be instrumental in elevating the MAC's narrative, enhancing our digital presence, and ultimately, celebrating the remarkable achievements of our student-athletes and institutions across the NCAA Division III landscape."

ABOUT THE MIDDLE ATLANTIC CONFERENCE
Located in Newtown, Pa., the Middle Atlantic Conference is an NCAA Division III conference comprised of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) and Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom).

The MAC currently sponsors 28 intercollegiate sports that compete in the NCAA Division III. More than 7,000 student-athletes participate in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's golf, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's indoor track & field, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's outdoor track & field, softball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's volleyball and men's and women's wrestling.
