York Picked as Favorite in MAC Commonwealth Men's Lacrosse Coaches’ Preseason Poll

The Spartans earned all seven first-place votes from opposing coaches for 49 points.

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Men’s Lacrosse) – The York Spartans were selected as the favorite to repeat as champions in the 2026 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth men’s lacrosse coaches. York collected all seven first-place votes from opposing coaches for a total of 49 points.

In 2025, the Spartans picked up a 16-10 win over two-seeded Stevenson University to claim its fourth MAC Commonwealth title in five years. York would beat Trinity (Conn.) in the secound round before being upended by No. 13 Cortland in the third round of the NCAA tournament. 

Stevenson earned an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament but fell in the first round to No. 19 University of Lynchberg to end their season. 

The 2026 season is set to begin on Saturday, Feb. 7. Conference play will begin on Wednesday, April 1 with a seven game schedule.

The 2026 MAC Commonwealth Men's Lacrosse Championship is set for April 29 - May 2. The top-four seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
