Team Records Eastern: 9-7-3 York: 13-1-5 How It Happened After 110 scoreless minutes, a penalty kick shootout was needed to determine which team would advance to the next round of the playoffs. Both teams remained even after the initial five shooters, so an additional four rounds was needed to determine an outcome. York ultimately clinched the shootout as Spartan keeper Gracie Leathery posted back-to-back and Brooklynn Myers converted her attempt. Leathery came up big for the Spartans in her return to the lineup after missing the last three games. The rookie goalie made a total of four stops during the shootout and posted a miraculous game-saving stop in the 78th minute of regulation on Eastern's only shot on goal for the night. The Spartans finished with a whopping 20-2 shot margin with a 11-1 advantage in shots on goal and a 10-2 margin in corners. Eastern's Faith Leake came up with 11 saves through 110 minutes of play and added two more stops in the shootout. Up Next The Spartans are heading back to the Commonwealth Final where they will face Messiah for the fifth time in the last six years. The Falcons will host York on Saturday with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
