Stahl Named MAC Men's Wrestler of the Year; Seidel Named MAC Rookie of the Year

York and Messiah collect major awards

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Men's Wrestling) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its major awards for men's wrestling on Wednesday. York's Josh Stahl was named MAC Men's Wrestler of the Year, while Messiah's Tucker Seidel was named MAC Rookie of the Year. Messiah's head coach Bryan Brunk took home MAC Coach of the Year honors.

The awards are nominated and voted on by the 10 conference men's wrestling coaches.

Stahl won the 2026 MAC Championships and finished as the National Runner-up at 197 pounds. He put together a whale of a senior season as he went 38-2 overall, including a dual record of 15-0, with eight falls, 18 technical falls and six major decisions while claiming four tournament titles, including a conference crown. Stahl finished top-10 in Division III in technical falls and in the Most Dominant Wrestler standings. Additionally, his 38 wins this season are tied for the third-most in York men's wrestling history.

Seidel placed third in the 2026 MAC Championships and fifth at NCAA Regionals at 197 pounds. He finished his stellar first season with a 41-12 record that included six falls and 68 takedowns which accumulated for 175.5 team points across the year.   

Messiah's head coach Bryan Brunk earned MAC Coach of the Year honors for the seventh time in his career. Messiah claimed their fifth MAC men's wrestling title, as the Falcons finished with one individual title, one runner-up finish, and three third-place finishes. Messiah also had two competitors (Keegan Demarest and Zach Needles) at the NCAA National Tournament, with Demarest earning All-America honors placing third at 165 pounds.
