MAC Weekly Awards Announcement (April 14, 2026)

NEWTOWN, Pa. (Conference News) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its conference weekly award recipients for the week ending April 12, 2026. A total of 27 student-athletes were recognized for performances from Apr. 6, 2026 to Apr. 12, 2026.

BASEBALL (#MACbaseball)
MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week
Landyn Shaw (Albright / So., P / Syracuse, N.Y.) tossed his first career complete game, allowing only one earned run on four hits in a 3-1 victory over Messiah. His performance handed Messiah only their second conference loss and held them to their lowest scoring output of the season.

MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Cole Reich (Stevenson / Fy., Outfield / Quakertown, Pa.) hit .615 with two home runs and eight RBIs during a dominant week of conference play. In a win over Widener, he nearly hit for the cycle while accounting for eight of his team's 11 runs.

MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week
Andrew McGowan (DeSales / Sr., P / Collegeville, Pa.) earned his third win of the season by pitching five shutout innings against Misericordia University. He allowed just three hits and struck out three batters to secure the 15-0 victory.

MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Owen Berry (Lebanon Valley / Sr., Shortstop / Cogan Station, Pa.) led the Dutchmen to a 3-2 record, batting .500 with nine hits, 10 runs, and six stolen bases. He also contributed on the mound, striking out two batters in a relief appearance against Delaware Valley.

MEN’S GOLF (#MACgolf)
MAC Commonwealth Golfer of the Week 
Zachary Wilcox (Stevenson / Jr. / Harford County, Md.) shot a 4-under-par on the final day of the Camp Lejeune Invitational, which was the joint-best score of the day. He finished the 54-hole competition with seven birdies and two eagles to earn a top-25 finish.

MAC Freedom Golfer of the Week 
Ryan Vallach (Misericordia / So. / Dallas, Pa.) shot a 74 to earn medalist honors at Huntsville in his only match of the week. His performance led the field despite the team's narrow loss to Wilkes.

WOMEN’S GOLF (#MACgolf)
MAC Golfer of the Week 
Alexis Marsh (Stevenson / So. / Erie, Pa.) finished second at the Stevenson Spring Invitational, helping her team secure a six-stroke victory. She followed that up with a top-ten finish at the Camp Lejeune Invitational after recording four birdies over three days.

MEN’S LACROSSE (#MAClax)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week 
Darrell Curtis (Stevenson / Jr., Attack / Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) totaled 13 points across a 2-0 week, including a nine-point performance against Widener and Eastern. He recorded four goals and three assists in the first game followed by a five-goal, one-assist effort in the second.

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Zach Sebra (Messiah / Fy., FO / Exton, Pa.) dominated at the faceoff X with an 87% win percentage and 34 total ground balls over two games. He set a program record with 27 faceoff wins in a single game while tying the program record for ground balls with 21.

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week 
Jack Tenaglia (Stevens / So., Attack / Oradell, N.J.)  recorded 18 points on two goals and 16 assists during a 2-0 week for the Ducks. He set a new school record for assists in a single game by dishing out 11 in a victory over Lebanon Valley.

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week 
Colin Brockman (Arcadia / So., FOGO / North Brunswick, N.J.) went 27-of-40 on faceoffs and collected 22 ground balls across two conference victories. He currently leads the conference in ground balls per game and ranks seventh nationally in faceoff win percentage.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE (#MAClax)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Maggie Merrill (Hood / Gr., Attack / Marriottsville, Md.) totaled 12 points to lead the Blazers to a 2-0 week in conference play. Her week was highlighted by a four-goal, four-assist performance against Albright where all of her goals were unassisted.

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Hannah Gawne (Messiah / Sr., Midfield / Lancaster, Pa.) was a key factor on both ends of the field, totaling five goals, seven ground balls, and 12 draw controls in a 2-0 week. Her defensive efforts helped the Falcons limit their opponents to just seven total goals.

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Stefanie Sellitto (Stevens / Sr., Midfield / Webster, N.Y.) recorded 12 points and 12 draw controls, including her milestone 500th career draw control. She scored six goals in a shutout win over FDU-Florham and added five more in a victory against Lebanon Valley.

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Danielle Sieja (DeSales / Sr., Midfield / Hamilton Square, N.J.) led a defense that allowed only six goals across two victories, including a shutout of King's College. She totaled six caused turnovers, five ground balls, and even contributed a goal on the week.

SOFTBALL (#MACsb)
MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week 
Emily Trzonkowski (Eastern / Fy., P / Middletown, Del.) improved to 11-0 on the season and earned her first collegiate save during a doubleheader sweep of Alvernia. She allowed just three hits and struck out four batters in her game-one start.

MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Rebekah Wiley (Messiah / Sr., Catcher / Dillsburg, Pa.) batted .600 with 12 hits and seven RBIs to fuel a 5-1 week for the Falcons. Six of her hits went for extra bases, including three doubles and three triples.

MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week 
Gabby Cruz (Misericordia / So., P / Woodbine, N.J.)  went 4-0 on the week, maintaining a 1.40 ERA over 20 innings pitched. She struck out 14 batters during her perfect week in the circle.
MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Casey Funesti (Misericordia / Sr., Infield / Montvale, N.J.) hit .594 with 19 hits and nine RBIs during a productive 7-1 week for the Cougars. She hit safely in all eight games and recorded six multi-hit performances.

MEN’S TENNIS (#MACtennis)
MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week 
Renato Orsi Tatuí (Albright / Fy. / Sao Paulo, Brazil) won both of his singles matches with dominant scores of 6-2, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-2. He also finished the week 2-0 in doubles play at the top position.

MAC Freedom Player of the Week 
Aaron Allen (Arcadia / Jr. / Pittsburgh, Pa.) led the Knights to a 3-0 week with perfect records at both first singles and first doubles. His efforts helped secure team victories over DeSales, Immaculata, and King's.

WOMEN’S TENNIS (#MACtennis)
MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week 
Nadia Margaritov (Albright / Jr. / Johannesburg, South Africa) went undefeated in both singles and doubles play to lead the Lions to a 2-0 week. She earned hard-fought singles wins over Alvernia and York at the No. 1 position.

MAC Freedom Player of the Week 
Savannah Falk (Arcadia / Sr. / Bridgeton, N.J.) won all six of her matches on the week, competing at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. Despite her individual success, the Knights finished the week with a 1-2 team record.

MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD (#MACtf)
MAC Track Athlete of the Week
Wyatt Leitzel (Lebanon Valley / So. / Hegins, Pa.) set a career-best time of 9:20.47 in the 3000m steeplechase at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic. His time currently ranks first in the MAC and 20th overall in Division III.

MAC Field Athlete of the Week
Anthony Collier (FDU-Florham / Fy. / Mount Olive, N.J.) placed first in the high jump with a school-record height of 2.01 meters. This mark currently ranks first in the MAC and is recognized in the 2026 NCAA rankings.

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD (#MACtf)
MAC Track Athlete of the Week
Gabby Nye (Widener / Gr. / Shippensburg, Pa.) broke the Widener school record in the 5000-meter by nearly 15 seconds with a time of 16:21.59. Her performance ranks third in the nation and is the 23rd fastest time in Division III history.

MAC Field Athlete of the Week
Brooke Signorella (DeSales / So. / Natrona Heights, Pa.) won both the long jump and triple jump at the DeSales Invitational. Her triple jump mark of 11.82 meters set a new school record and ranks ninth nationally.
