READING, Pa. – Men's tennis beat Messiah 4-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Championship to win the programs first MAC title since 1998. The win automatically qualifies Albright for the 2026 NCAA Championships. Dylan Huha was named tournament MVP.

Men's tennis had a historic year and continued that trend today winning their first conference championship since 1998. Throughout the season and today the Lions left little doubt as to who the best team in the conference is. In the regular season, Albright only dropped one court in within conference play and swept both playoff matches to become champions.

Albright will learn who they play and where in the first round of the NCAA Championships on Monday, May 4 at 12:30 p.m. Watch the NCAA selection show by clicking here.

The upcoming appearance in the NCAA Championships will be the first time the Albright men's tennis program has competed in the NCAA Championships.

For head coach Mirinda Brown this marks her fourth conference championship combining the women's team who won in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Brown took over the program in January of 2021 quickly turning the men's and women's tennis programs into perennial contenders in the MAC.

Matias Contreras and Leonardo Russo Gispert were no match for their opponent winning #2 doubles 6-3. Marcelo Menchaca and Esteban Vallejo closed the door to take the team doubles point by way of winning 7-5 in number three doubles.

With Albright in front 1-0 over Messiah, Menchaca quickly made it 2-0 in favor of the Lions after a 6-3, 6-0 win in number four singles.

Enrico Pucci put the Lions up 3-0 with a convincing 6-3, 6-0 victory in number five singles.

Karim Fattal was the fourth court the Lions needed to win the championship. Fattal was in control the entire match winning 6-3, 6-0 in straight sets.
