NEWTOWN, Pa. (Conference News) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its conference weekly award recipients for the week ending September 20, 2026. A total of 27 student-athletes were recognized for performances from Sept. 14, 2026 to Sept. 20, 2026.

CROSS COUNTRY (#MACxc)
MAC Men’s Runner of the Week
Joey Wilson (DeSales / Sr. / Staten Island, N.Y.) placed second overall at the DeSales University Invitational, clocking an 8K time of 25:44.9.

MAC Women’s Runner of the Week
Delaney Turk (Messiah / Jr. / Fairfax, Va.) led Messiah to a team win at the MAC Preview, hosted by Stevenson, crossing the line first individually in 23:06.6.

FIELD HOCKEY (#MACfh)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
CJ Summa (Eastern / Jr., F / Ellicott City, Md.) posted two goals and two assists in a pair of Eastern wins, setting up both scores in a 4-1 win over Drew then netting a penalty-stroke goal in a 2-1 win over Arcadia.

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Angelina Catania (Eastern / Jr., GK / Hammonton, N.J.) stopped 15 of 17 shots to backstop two road wins for Eastern, making seven saves in a 4-1 win over Drew and a season-high eight — including one on a penalty stroke — in a 2-1 win at Arcadia.

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Brooke Barwick (Marywood / Jr., F / Sunbury, Pa.) posted nine points on four goals and an assist as Marywood split its week. She recorded her second career hat trick — three goals, an assist — in a 5-1 win over Keuka, then scored a third-quarter equalizer in a 2-1 loss to Bryn Mawr.

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Anna Doblovosky (Arcadia / Sr., GK / Point Pleasant, N.J.) made 23 saves at an .885 clip as Arcadia went 2-1, picking up the Knights' first win of the season in a 2-1 win over Neumann with 12 saves  and her first shutout of the year in a 4-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy.

FOOTBALL (#MACfb)
MAC Offensive Player of the Week
Zakai Smullen (Alvernia / So., WR / Salisbury, Md.) caught eight passes for a program-record 205 yards and a program-record three touchdowns, capping Alvernia's game-winning drive with a one-handed touchdown grab to secure the program's first-ever win over King's, 28-21.

MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Luke Shaeffer (Widener / Sr., DB / Warrington, Pa.) recorded two interceptions — including a 40-yard pick-six — plus a forced fumble and a tackle for loss, then sealed Widener's 17-15 win over FDU-Florham by intercepting a two-point conversion attempt in the final seconds.

MAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Wyatt Younes (Delaware Valley / Sr., DB / Catasauqua, Pa.) returned the second-half opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, a new Delaware Valley record, and added a 26-yard return to average 63 yards per return in the Aggies' 24-21 win over Albright.

MAC Freedom Golfer of the Week
Sebastian Beaver (Stevens / Sr. / Ridgefield, Conn.) won the Pioneer Fall Invitational with a 1-under 69, closing with birdies on four of his final six holes to earn a tiebreaker victory by virtue of the lower final-six score.

WOMEN’S GOLF (#MACgolf)
MAC Golfer of the Week
Jillian Fidler (Lebanon Valley / Sr. / Lebanon, Pa.) tied for third out of 51 golfers and was the top Division III finisher in a mostly Division II field at the Millersville Invitational, carding a 36-hole 156 (81-75) with a season-best final round.

MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Gavin Huey (York / Sr., M / Drums, Pa.) scored three goals in a pair of York wins, including a brace and the 85th-minute game-winner in a back-and-forth 3-2 victory over Lebanon Valley.

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Mike Lawry (Albright / Jr., GK / Jarrettsville, Md.) posted back-to-back 90-minute shutouts, making eight saves across wins over Lancaster Bible and Berkeley to keep Albright unbeaten.

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Mike McCurry (DeSales / Jr., F / Philadelphia, Pa.) scored three goals and added an assist in a 1-1 week for DeSales, notching two goals and a helper in a 4-0 win over Penn State Berks before scoring the Bulldogs' lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Eastern.

MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Bobby Boyke (Stevens / Fy., GK / Somerset, N.J.) made 10 saves in a 1-1 week for Stevens, turning away five shots in a 3-1 win over Springfield before stopping five more in a 1-0 loss to NYU.

Meg Kalthof (York / Sr., F / Bel Air, Md.) tallied her third game-winner of the season in a 1-0 win over Dickinson and added two shots on target in a loss to No. 3 Washington & Lee as York went 1-1.

Araba Abanyie (Widener / So., GK / Berlin, N.J.) made nine saves on 14 shots to earn a shutout win over Wilkes on Senior Day.

Abrielle Miller (Lebanon Valley / Sr., F / Lebanon, Pa.) totaled eight points on three goals and two assists to lead Lebanon Valley to two shutout wins, opening with her first career hat trick in a 5-0 win over Lancaster Bible before setting up both goals in a 2-0 Senior Day win over Stevenson.

David Garces Cifuentes (Albright / Jr. / Chiapas, Mexico) swept at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0, and teamed with Matias Contreras for a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles in Albright's home opener over Penn State Berks.

MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Zach Schrader (Lebanon Valley / Jr. / Reading, Pa.) won at the top singles and doubles flight in a close 4-3 loss to Southern Virginia, teaming with Jesse Beck for a 6-3 doubles win before taking his singles match 6-4, 6-3.

Elicia Aponte (Albright / Sr. / Annapolis, Md.) swept her matches in Albright's home opener over Penn State Berks, teaming with Allison Horick for a 6-0 shutout at No. 1 doubles before winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.

MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Catherine Stone (Lebanon Valley / Sr. / Kennett Square, Pa.) went 2-0 at the top flights to lead Lebanon Valley to a 4-3 season-opening win over Southern Virginia, clinching the doubles point with a 6-2 win before sealing the match with a 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) singles victory.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL (#MACvb)
MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Rachel Lenz (Stevenson / Jr., OH / Arlington, Va.) powered Stevenson to a perfect 3-0 week — the Mustangs' first conference win of the season — totaling 48 kills and 59.0 points across three matches, averaging 16.0 kills per match, which now ranks second in the conference.

MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Hannah Strohm (Neumann / Jr., Libero / Lancaster, Pa.) reached 1,000 career digs during a 44-dig week for Neumann, adding 15 assists and eight aces as the Knights went 1-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week
Taylor Hallam (Marywood / Sr., OH / Harrisburg, Pa.) hit .510 with 55 kills and 70.5 points across four matches, leading Marywood to three wins, highlighted by an error-free .733 clip against Wilkes and an 18-kill performance in a five-set win over defending NJAC champion Kean.
 
MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week 
Jocelyn Castro (DeSales / Sr., MB / Bronx, N.Y.) set two program single-match records with 11 total blocks (10 assisted) in a 2-0 week for DeSales, averaging 2.29 blocks per set and adding seven kills as the Bulldogs stayed unbeaten.
