As a part of the MAC 100 celebration, the Middle Atlantic Conference named Century Teams in each sport from each era of the MAC history.

Voting Process
Fans of the MAC had the opportunity to vote online for the top MAC athletes of all time. MAC 100 Century Teams were announced at the end of each respective sport season.

Eras of MAC History
The history of the conference is broken into three distinct time periods:
(I) 1912 to 1972-73 -- the formation of the conference until 10 larger schools broke off to form the East Coast Conference.  Before the split, conference play was split between "University" and "College" divisions.

(II) 1973-74 to 1992-93 -- the conference was generally split into four sub-conferences (Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, and Southeast) until a group of schools left in 1992-93 to form the Centennial Conference

(III) 1993-94 to Today -- the modern time period of the conference, operating in an umbrella format under the Freedom, Commonwealth, and Middle Atlantic Conferences.

Each sport has been divided with these time periods and where large sport sponsorship allows more sub-groups. A standard team size was elected from each era. For example, five eras have been delineated for Men's Soccer, therefore, 11 players from each era were elected to the MAC 100 Century Team.
