In his new role with the conference, Brett Adams will oversee the conference’s external relations including the strategic direction of broadcasting, conference sponsorships, scheduling, communications and provide key strategic leadership to develop programming and enhance the student-athlete experience across the conference.

Adams joined Villa Julie College in 1994 as its first full-time athletic director, the same year the Mustangs joined the NCAA Division III. When the institution became Stevenson University in 2008, he continued to lead the department, ultimately serving 31 years at the helm. During his tenure, he oversaw tremendous growth, guiding the program from 54 student-athletes and 11 programs to more than 700 NCAA athletes and 250 club sport athletes across 29 NCAA varsity sports and 13 club sports.

He wore many hats during his time at the institution, including stints as head men’s basketball coach (1994-2011) and  head men’s and women’s tennis coach (1994-99). He assisted with the formation of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC), serving as its first chair of the Athletic Director’s Committee and chair of the Executive Committee. 

He will officially start with the MAC on August 1, 2025.
