Trey Brown Departs as Head Football Coach at Wilkes University

WILKES-BARRE (Football) – Wilkes University Director of Athletics Adelene Malatesta announced on Wednesday the departure of Trey Brown as head coach of the Colonels football program. Brown leaves Wilkes after a four-year tenure as the head mentor of the Colonels.
 
Established in 1946, the Wilkes football program has produced 28 winning seasons, captured eight conference titles including two Middle Atlantic Conference crowns, seven Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) appearances and two NCAA Tournament berths. The Colonels also enjoyed one of the finest streaks in all of college football when they won 32 straight games from 1965-1969 while also capturing two Lambert Cup trophies during the run.  
 
Wilkes will begin a national search for its next head coach immediately.
